Another Fun Zoo Day

We met up with the D-Stirly family for an outing at the zoo and we weren't sure what to expect with the weather since SLC had quite the snow storm the day before.
It ended up being a gorgeous day! Not too hot, but not too cold or breezy.

This will probably be our last zoo trip for awhile...the parents are kind of tired of the zoo and the kids really don't care about seeing the animals, they are just happy to run around, play with rocks, leaves, sticks, etc... and we can do that at a park for free.☺

It was really nice this time since it was the end of the day and mid-week, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

There's this area at the zoo that is just some rocks and a bench on the hillside in some shade and I think the boys would be content to play there all. day. long.

We did a little family photo op.

Isn't this picture so romantic?
Bwahaha!
My settings were wrong so the picture was way too overexposed, but I kind of liked it.

To top it all off, we went to Cafe Rio afterwards, and THAT makes for a perfect day. ☺

Gifts of the Spirit

On Sunday, which was the actual day of Shavuot,
(Leviticus 23:15-16- "You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. 16You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the LORD.)
we did the wave offering with the grain offering. (Leviticus 23:17-"You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved, made of two tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as first fruits as a wave offering before the LORD.")
(Leviticus 23:21-And you shall make proclamation on the same day. You shall hold a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a statute forever in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.)

After the offering everyone is to take a chunk from each loaf to eat.

David was happy to eat bread.
Because we view the offering we just made as a contract between the Lord and his people, it is a wedding like celebration and so we had a wedding banquet afterwards.
