Another Fun Zoo Day

We met up with the D-Stirly family for an outing at the zoo and we weren't sure what to expect with the weather since SLC had quite the snow storm the day before.
It ended up being a gorgeous day! Not too hot, but not too cold or breezy.

This will probably be our last zoo trip for awhile...the parents are kind of tired of the zoo and the kids really don't care about seeing the animals, they are just happy to run around, play with rocks, leaves, sticks, etc... and we can do that at a park for free.☺

It was really nice this time since it was the end of the day and mid-week, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

There's this area at the zoo that is just some rocks and a bench on the hillside in some shade and I think the boys would be content to play there all. day. long.

We did a little family photo op.

Isn't this picture so romantic?
Bwahaha!
My settings were wrong so the picture was way too overexposed, but I kind of liked it.

To top it all off, we went to Cafe Rio afterwards, and THAT makes for a perfect day. ☺

Zoo Day

The weather has been great so we hit the zoo the other day with Dan and Melanie. (Heather joined us later on)
Ella was not quite sure what the hat was all about.
My kids are looking so old/ big these days, what's the deal?

How cute is Jaydon?

The baby elephant that I've blogged about before. ☺
It was cute watching it play with its toys.

Don't miss your chance to tell me what to do. (Doesn't mean I'll do it, but you can give your opinion) ☺

Zoo Again

We headed to the zoo again yesterday morning for a few hours. We were there when it opened so there weren't very many people and the air was still somewhat cool.
Melanie and Heather both have season passes to the zoo, that's why we keep going there.

Drew and Aidan
Drew and Jaydon are looking like twins these days.
The kids really like the zoo's playground.
One of the zoo's main attractions right now is the baby giraffe that was just born.

Don't be deceived, that baby is about 6 ft tall and 130 lbs. So cute though. There is also a baby Snow Leopard, but we weren't able to see it today. The pregnant elephant that I posted a picture of previously, is due any day now and all the zookeepers are anxious and excited. Here is an article in the Tribune about why they are so anxious, but excited. I thought it was interesting anyway. :-)
A whole bunch of trouble

Zoo

We met up with Sydnie, Melanie, and kids for a couple of hours at the zoo this morning and par for the course lately, I didn't get very many photos.
Ethan, Henry, and Aidan looking at some animal I don't know the name of, in the Madagascar exhibit.
Looking at the monkeys
Checking out the camels
They have this huge iron elephant thing and it makes "elephant noises", but really it just sounds kind of creepy and scares the children.
exhibit A. - Aidan is staring at the trunk wondering what the heck is wrong with it

Ethan got brave and walked over to it. Aidan still wanted nothing to do with it.
Here is Katy, the pregnant elephant lady. She's 20 months pregnant. Egads.
