Stuff you probably didn't want to know...

Firstly, the elephant at the zoo had her 251 lb baby on Monday, after 20 minutes of labor. Story here since I know you care and want to read all about it! :)
(Photos from the Salt Lake Tribune)
Secondly, Aidan has apparently had a growth spurt and he's reaching things he couldn't reach before (like knives and pens) and I FINALLY noticed that his shoes were WAY to small. I swear that happened overnight. This stage he's in sure has it's fun moments and it's not so fun moments. (Welcome to having children?) I now know how frustrating it is to have him hide stuff from me (Like my face lotion that I haven't been able to find for a couple of days now!) but today he was out playing on the front patio, and I went out there and he was on the ground looking at something. I asked him what he was doing and he pointed at something and said "Ant. That's a ant!" and it was, and then I'm amazed at how much he's grasping these days as far as knowing what things are etc.... Guess he must be listening to me after all. :-)
Thirdly, I have to watch TV when I'm up with Ella at night to help me stay awake, so this means I have resort to watching lots of "Fluff". I can't watch scary, dramatic stuff cause I DO want to be able to go back to sleep... Soooo, I've been watching Guiliana and Bill and I LIKE it, and I'm kind of embarassed to admit it, since I'm not really a fan of being obsessed about celebrities and what not. What do you have to say about that Kenneth? It's almost as bad as me watching the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader tryout show. Ha ha.
Well, if I had more, I can't remember it anymore since Ella decided that 3 minutes was a long enough nap and she's letting me know about it.

Rough day.........?

One of the silly names we call Aidan is "Aidan Paidin puddin' and pie". I don't know why, we just do. Blame our families. Conversation I had with Aidan today when he did something that annoyed me.

Me: Aidan Paidin (said in annoyed tone)
Aidan: Puddin and pie? (cheerfully)
It's not easy to stay mad.

I don't know if I just need more sleep or what, but I completely forgot that today was my laundry day, so that didn't get done. Then Cary was getting Aidan ready for bed tonight and it was revealed that I put one of Ella's diapers on Aidan. How I didn't notice that the diaper may have seemed a little small is beyond me!
Here are some long lost pictures from the weekend before last when we were visiting family. I had eaten German Chocolate cake at our after church meal and Ella didn't like it. Our normally happy, easy going baby cried and was fussy for about 11 hrs. The only way she wanted to be held during that time was how Cary is holding her in this picture.
It wore him out. :)
Aidan got an early b-day gift that weekend from Tom and Janille's family
He really likes it.
Speaking of his birthday, Aidan says thanks for all the birthday wishes. ;-)
Unfortunately we're kind of boring and didn't throw a party for him. Cary baked him a cake and we sort of decorated it.
Aidan seemed happy with it.
He likes numbers and letters right now, so it worked.
"That's a TWO!"

Well, I better end this wonderful day and go to bed. :)

Look who's TWO!

It's my little guy's birthday today. It's been so much fun watching him grow and learn this year, from learning letters and numbers, walking, to him giving me kisses and saying "thank you" afterwards.
Love you Aidan.
Happy Birthday to the cutest and smartest little boy!

Zoo Again

We headed to the zoo again yesterday morning for a few hours. We were there when it opened so there weren't very many people and the air was still somewhat cool.
Melanie and Heather both have season passes to the zoo, that's why we keep going there.

Drew and Aidan
Drew and Jaydon are looking like twins these days.
The kids really like the zoo's playground.
One of the zoo's main attractions right now is the baby giraffe that was just born.

Don't be deceived, that baby is about 6 ft tall and 130 lbs. So cute though. There is also a baby Snow Leopard, but we weren't able to see it today. The pregnant elephant that I posted a picture of previously, is due any day now and all the zookeepers are anxious and excited. Here is an article in the Tribune about why they are so anxious, but excited. I thought it was interesting anyway. :-)
A whole bunch of trouble
