Knoll Springs, Marjum Pass, and Amasa Basin

The last Saturday in July we took advantage of a free Saturday afternoon to go sight seeing/ exploring.
Teresa and Rosaleen had the same plans, so we went as a group. First stop was Knoll Springs which is always the kids favorite.

After Knoll Springs we continued on the dirt road through Cowboy Pass, and right before Marjum Pass we had a flat tire. Wah, wah. Luckily, we had a spare, so Cary was able to get us back up and going.

We stopped in Marjum Pass and hiked up to the Hermits cave. Cary decided he wanted to live there. 😉

Britton was not supposed to be climbing up into the window...

On our way back to the vehicles it started to rain a little on us, but by the time we started driving it was pouring. We continued on through Marjum Pass in the rain and it was one of the coolest/ prettiest things I've ever seen out in our desert. It was raining too hard to get pictures through the window, and I couldn't open a window in the truck or my husband would have shot me. 😏😄 It wasn't quite a flash flood, but their were little waterfalls and Marjum Pass is just a really cool place so it was quite the experience.
We continued on and our next stopping place was Amasa Basin, and it was still a little drizzly, but was tapering off. This is a popular off-road destination, but our vehicles couldn't go any further so the plan was just to hike a mile or so in, but it ended up being quite a bit further and we still wanted to keep going, but it was getting late and darker at that point. So we turned around, but it was still a very fun/ pretty walk. It would be very fun on an off road vehicle or horseback. 😋
