We met up on Black Mountain for Rosh Chodesh/ Yom Teruah and there were these crepuscular rays on the other side of the valley.
This is where I really start to notice the difference between my DSLR and my camera phone. But bad pictures are better than no pictures. ;)
It was a beautiful but windy night.
I can't remember if I've mentioned that Ella started making some grunting noises earlier in the summer, and then in the middle of August she woke us up one morning crying and saying that she couldn't breathe. She was wheezing and we ended up rushing her to the ER. Anyway, Sept and August we had dentist appointments and follow up appointments for Ella. We are still ruling out if she has Asthma like the boys, or if it's something else. We have an appointment with a pulmonary specialist next week. The kids love traveling...especially since both of our DVD players are broken.
One Sunday afternoon we were taking advantage of the beautiful weather and were walking/ "hiking" around Black Mountain...Cary was up ahead with Aidan and Britton and I was further back with the girls. Well, the boys went around the mountain out of sight, and when we came around the corner, Britton was standing there by himself. Cary and Aidan had hiked up the mountain and Britton had hung back to play in an ant pile. So when we found him he was standing right on top of a huge ant hill and playing with the ants. They were all over him. I freaked out a little bit, but tried not to show it to him, since they apparently hadn't started biting him yet, well, they started biting. Ugh.
I had to strip him down, he had ants everywhere! In his hair, in his underwear, in his shoes, everywhere. By the end of the day he looked like he had a hives rash all over his body...and actually I'm not sure what was ant bites and what was a reaction. :p

Wheel-a-thon 2014
The wheel-a-thon happened to be on a nice sunny (WINDY!!) day this year, which is a change from the last two years where it either rained or was threatening to rain on the kids.
Aidan and Ella rode all of the eight miles.
The Baker kids who ride 16 miles had a much harder time with fighting against the wind for eight of the miles, I guess it was pretty brutal.
Britton and I helped with setting up the lunch at Baker Hall, and Clara got to stay home with dad.

Family Photos 2014
I'm so thankful to have a photographer in the family!
We can be talking and the next thing you know, we've got a family photo session planned for the afternoon. Cary loves it too.
We heard the leaves were changing colors and we wanted to make a trip into the mountains to see the pretty trees, so we killed two birds with one stone (so to speak...) ☺
Thanks Sharon, you're the best!
We don't give Sharon much to work with. ;)
