Aidan turns 5!

Aidan turned five, and his request was a red bike, and a pizza party with chocolate-chocolate chip cookies. So we got him a red bike and we let him see it early since he's not friends with change.

The bike is a teensy bit too big, but he can still ride it and more importantly, he'll still be able to ride it for awhile.
Guess what Aidan's favorite color is...

I used to be an organized person, I can no longer say that and have it be true. Thankfully my family must be used to this, so I say, "we're having a party" a few hours ahead of time and everyone still comes. :) I strive to be better next year especially since Aidan is going to want all his friends there and they will need a little more notice. Mom and Sharon showed up to help me make pizza, breadsticks, roasted zucchini, and Kenneth made the requested cookies.

After we were done eating food, some of us went outside to enjoy the lightning show. Sharon and Janille got some cool shots.
Sharon's.

Janille's.

We hung out and watched the storm for awhile, but then it started coming towards us and soon started raining (hard!) so the party broke up and everyone went home.

A Night of Music

I've been trying not to be such a slacker, but I've obviously failed miserably since the second Summer concert happened two weeks ago and I'm barely posting pictures.
I'm already feeling regret since I can't remember what else happened in July, but I didn't take pictures or blog so I guess I'll never know. :)

#4

If you haven't heard, we are expecting baby #4, due February 15. Yes, I've been very sick and tired and I'm glad that now I can complain here. ;) Just kidding.

Birthday BBQ

So on July 13th it was Jenna's birthday, and on July 16th it was Kenneth's birthday, so on Sunday the 15th, we planned a little BBQ up in the mountains.
The plan was to meet a little earlier so that the food could start cooking and we could eat before everyone reached starvation mode. ;)
Well, someone forgot to give dad the memo and he had most of the food, fire stuff, drinks, etc... in the back of his truck. The rest of us waited (patiently) for almost an hour and a half. ☺
Luckily, Tom and Ben are good boy scouts so they scrounged up some firewood and kindling and Chandra hit up the campground host for a match and we had a fire. Tom and Janille brought the meat (short ribs) so we did that and ice cream! ☺
It ended up working out and we did eat some really good food and all was well. We even managed to shove some s'mores in our faces too.
The weather was perfect; nice and cool. It did rain on us for a second, but nothing too bad.
We should do that more often...
