Preparations

It's that time of year again!
Preparing for the seventh month feasts.
We observed Yom Kippur last Sunday and this weekend starts the feast of Ingathering. (or booths, Sukkot)
So a lot of work has been going on to get ready for this weekend.

Setting up a sukkah

Sneak Preview!

By the by, for anyone that was wondering...
The kids are still somewhat sick, and our week did improve a little.
We came to EskDale anyway since everyone here is sick already. ☺

Arrrggh!

It's only Wednesday, and starting Monday, this has been the week from Hades!
That's why you haven't heard from me for awhile. I don't really have anything good to say. ☺
I just need this week to be OVER. NOW!

Example: It's barely 10:00 in the morning right now, and I've already had Aidan throw up all over me, the couch, himself, and good portion of the floor. THEN, I have to try to keep Ella from walking through or eating said throw up. (writing that made me want to throw up) I may or may not have succeeded at that, sooooo I'm guessing she'll probably be throwing up fairly soon too.

I'm going to go bang my head on a wall.

End of Summer BBQ

Dan and Melanie invited a bunch of us over to their place for a BBQ/ Potluck

After eating, the guys played a rousing game of croquet

Melanie had set a rubix cube on the table to keep the napkins from blowing away, Aidan kept stealing it.

Then some of us girls played a game of croquet

It's my blog, so I have to mention that I won the game. ☺

Sorry Abby, but I thought this was a funny picture.

At one point, Cary was trying to play and Ella wanted him to hold her so she followed him around crying.

Dan played "catch" with her and she cheered up.

Thanks Dan and Melanie!
We had a great time!

Belly Photo

My eyes! My eyes!
They're (their? my brain is NOT functioning this morning) not supposed to see cheesy self belly pictures!
Sorry for the creepy, cheesy, bathroom, self protrait.
Complete with dirty mirror.
This picture was actually taken a couple of weeks ago.
::sobs::
So THIS is why you aren't supposed to eat bags of Doritos in one sitting.
Hmmm....
In other news...
We aren't going anywhere this weekend and it feels really weird. (nice, but strange)
Yom Kippur is on Sunday, so Cary wouldn't be able to work on the house, so there was really no reason to go anywhere.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Projects

At the start of nice weather I had about 10 furniture projects I had lined up that I wanted to do over the Summer.
Yeah.
That hasn't gone so well.
The first one I started on (back in June) was this stool that one of our neighbors was throwing out, I grabbed it and brought it home. (much to Cary's horror)

Two - three months later, I finally finished it.
I've never painted furniture type stuff before, I've only done the staining refinishing.
So I'm not very good at it. lol.
Good thing I picked a piece of furniture that the kids are going to beat up on, to work on first.

Aidan working on the final touches. ☺

All I did was paint it white.
(Geez, what took you so long?)
and modge podged some paper to the bottom for some fun color.
The kids love that thing, in fact they were very put out while I was working on it, since it meant they couldn't play with it.
In other news, since people asked. ☺
We're all still sick.
Amazingly enough, I'm the least sick of us all. (hoping it stays that way!)
Aidan's cold went right to his chest and he has a hacking cough all night.
My appointment went well on Monday.
Other than gaining 500 lbs, I had a surprise ultrasound.
(I had a surprise pap and physical too, but those weren't as fun) ☺
I was going to tell them to go ahead and see what gender the baby was, but figured I'd better wait and see if Cary wanted to be there or not.
I was thinking with the third child that I wouldn't care as much about finding out the gender before hand.
Not so.
So hopefully we'll be finding out on October 11.
