State Fair 2010

So I wasn't planning on going this year.
I had a doctors appointment yesterday and I knew that it basically meant that we would miss the entire cow show by the time we showed up.
I wasn't too eager to go myself and try to keep track of two kids in a crowd AND try to take pictures of the show either,
BUT, after my appointment since Cary was home, we decided we'd just go hang out with my dad, Ben, and Crystal for a few hours since they couldn't leave until later that night.
Cary was wanting a funnel cake too. ☺
We got there right as the show was ending and they were outside taking a picture of a cow.

How many people does it take to take a picture of one cow?

Dad showing Aidan how to milk a cow

The cows are glad the show is over...

Cary found a funnel cake

Ella was a fan too

Ella didn't think Crystal was dirty enough so she thought she'd help her out

We went to the ice cream social later.
(a tent where they have a bunch of different ice cream stations from the various creameries around the state)
Aggie ice cream always has the longest line. ☺

Watching a little boy on the rock climbing wall

We were only there for a few hours, but by the time we left there were SO many people there you could barely move and I was getting claustrophobic.
We were all going to go out and eat before those guys started loading up to leave,
but Kevin was giving out the permits early which meant they could leave earlier.

You know you're back from vacation when...

1. Your kids are sick and you're pretty sure you're coming down with it too.
(although, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac) ☺
2. The (sick) kids wake up way earlier than usual the first day back home. (what's up with that?!)
3. The mountains of laundry
4. All the unpacking that needs to be done. Ugh.
Can we just watch TV all day?

Today is the State Fair Holstein cow show, I wanted to go but I have a doctors appointment right in the middle so I don't think we'll make it this year. :(

Rosh Chodesh/ Yom Teruah

Last night we celebrated Rosh Chodesh on the eve of Yom Teruah. To make it special we decided to look for the new moon on top of Black Mountain.

Dean "I think I see it!"

It's confirmed, it IS the new moon!

Let the shofar blowing begin

Many of us could never see it, I finally saw it right before it set.

Looking for the new moon is actually loads of fun, you should try it some time. ☺

Just because...

Cary is probably missing the munchkins about now. ☺

He had Monday off and then Friday off, so the kids and I stayed in E-Dale since it was only going to be a couple of days, and sent Cary back by himself.

Hope you're getting lots of quality rest and relaxion, dear. ♥
(I'm sure not!)

Halellujah!

Alex is back!
Old windows are coming out!

Ryan did a lot of work last week, and then they got a lot done this past weekend.

All the walls are up, and most of the closets.

The sheet rock in the living room came down too. (on one wall anyway)
