Desert Run/ Walk-a-Song

The morning run started nice and early, about 6:30...

for the half-marathoners, anyway.

Cody, Lois, and Abby were the only crazy people doing the half-marathon.

They're off!

Chandra started when they did, but she was officially a 10K-er.

Just cause everyone likes the butt shots. ;o)

The perfect morning for running!

It was very cool and cloudy so it never really got hot while the run was going on.

The 10K and 5K people started arriving.

Cody came in the with the fastest time for the half marathon, (1:52) Andre was the fastest in the 10K, and Daniel was the fastest in the 5K.

There were 41 people that ended up entering.

I'm hoping that Cary and I can participate next year!

We totally would have this year if we had had a jogging stroller or something.

Just a Shot

Yesterday,

the Sturlins held a memorial for Guy Sturlin,

who died in December 2009.

I didn't take any photos,

except when the family got up to sing a song for Guy.

Bryce Canyon NP

Somehow I forgot these pictures!

After our vacation down by Zion NP, on our way home, we decided to do a quick detour over to Bryce Canyon NP.

After visiting Bryce Canyon, we headed North, and took the cut off road (highway 20) to I-15 from route 89.

That was such a pretty drive through a pass with wildflowers of all colors,

 covering the hillsides.

I couldn't take pictures though since Cary was sleeping, so I was driving.

This was off I-15 just to give you an idea of all the flowers that were in bloom everywhere.

Favorite past time of late...

The kids can't get enough of pools lately.

The water doesn't even have to be very deep...

and entertainment is cheap with measuring cups from the kitchen.

Summer Nights

 A little complilation of photos I've taken over the last week...

Cary and I have been trying to go on walks every night.

Megan and Kayli spent the night with us last night, so they joined us.

Aidan has to stop to pull up his shorts.
