Grandpa's Memorial

Grandpa Bob's memorial was June 21, 2015, so the few days before that, family was showing up and were helping to go through grandpa and grandma's stuff.

The morning of the memorial was the Snake Valley Slither fundraiser and we have a lot of crazy people in this family that run (I'm not one of them) so our family had a nice turn out at the run. I stole these run pictures from Sharon and Bethany.

At the memorial.

Program done by Kenneth

Everything was well planned but we realized last minute that we didn't have much by way of flowers so we threw some together, and I went to grandpa's and cut some of his tiger lily's for one of the arrangements, and then cut some of his roses for a small arrangement on the table.

These are all terrible pictures, but just a sampling of us packing lots of people in small spaces so we could visit. ☺It was great to visit with family and see some of the family I hadn't seen for awhile.

Sharon put together a slideshow for the memorial, and the second video is of the memorial. I can't imagine anyone will want to watch it, but I put it here for me to find later.

Just a Shot

Yesterday,
the Sturlins held a memorial for Guy Sturlin,
who died in December 2009.
I didn't take any photos,
except when the family got up to sing a song for Guy.

Grandma's Memorial Continued...

After Grandma's memorial service we had a meal. There was a table that had all the treats that most people remember Grandma making--her whole wheat bread and cheese, fudge, and candied popcorn. I did manage to not get a picture of that.

Janille and Sharon just may kill me for that picture. ☺

Taking pictures of Conrad's is worse than taking pictures of kids! No one can stop talking, I know, I suffer from the same affliction.
I did manage to get TWO pictures where everyone had a decent expression on their face
and this picture just cracked me up since this is how it usually was
Tim's family...I apparently missed out when they took pictures of the other families?
It was great seeing everybody, but of course the time goes by too fast.
If you are interested in seeing pretty much every picture I took relating to the graveside and memorial service, go here.
