Pool Party

We met up today for a pool party, although the high was only around 70 degrees

Since it wasn't really that warm I wasn't planning on Ella getting wet.
She had different plans.

Ethan, Sam and Henry
Ella LOVED being in the water, she'd lay down, kick her legs like she was a little fish.
Good thing I bought her a little pool, we just haven't had the opportunity to use it yet!
:::WARNING:::
Semi naked baby
She crawled around on the grass, which I was also surprised at since she's usually not a fan of how it feels on her skin.
Sam trying to dunk Ethan.
(That's what it looks like anyway)
Cary stopped by after he got off work

Evan is on the move!

Since it was our anniversary, Melanie offered to keep our kids and let us go out to eat by ourselves.
(what a novel concept)
So we did.
Thanks Melanie!
(for watching our kids and for letting us use your yard for "swimming") ☺

I shouldn't be doing this...

Unfortunately, I've been really bad about my time management for the last month, so now there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I need to get done.
In other news, Cary and I have been married for four years.
 Happy Anniversary to us!
I can't believe we've only been married for four, feels like it's been longer than that. Heh. ☺
In a good way, of course...

When we first moved to our current residence, I planted two roses in the back patio area, one died and one is still sort of alive and last year it managed to grow two flowers the whole year.
I need to move it as it's getting choked out by Ivy.
Have I mentioned how much I HATE Ivy?
In my horticulture and landscape classes I never understood the complete disdain for the plant.
I totally get it now.
Anyway, all that to say that my rose bush actually flowered again and it was so pretty, I took pictures.
Who, me?

Planting Flowers

Aidan helped Grandma Lois plant flowers last weekend.
I think this was his favorite part
If it had been warm (at all) I would have let him get as wet as he wanted to, but it was freezing.
so he had to be content to just get the flowers and dirt wet.

More Demo

What this area looked like to start with.
After the cabinets were removed.
and then the wall came down
and then the other wall came down...
Looking through what used to be the bathroom and small closet/ room.
The old shower.
Progress.
Slowly, but surely. ☺

Updated links!

I added the links to Sharon's videos in the broadway post. Click on the song titles. ☺

Music of the Night -- A Broadway Concert

This weekend was the annual Summer concert at EskDale. ☺ I don't even know who to give credit for putting together this concert, but I think the first one was in 2006 and Rosaleen and Sharon planned it. I was in the first one, but hadn't been again until last years concert. This year they are going to have 3 concert nights spread throughout the summer.

The weather has been fickle and the concert almost had to be moved indoors since it has been so windy and cold,
but they persevered
It was REALLY cold, so you'll notice all the performers wearing jackets.
Sharon's lament, err.... "Adelaide's Lament"
Dad playing "Summertime"
Jessica, Brianna, and Sharon -" I Know It's Today"

(notice all the coats, you'd think it was January, not June) ☺
Mark - "Alive"
Aren't the stage and lighting so cool?!
Girls Ensemble - "For Good"
John & Brianna - "If I Said I Loved You"

Kiah & John - "Lily's Eyes"
Awesome job everyone! The music was awesome as well as the stage, lighting etc...
Sharon does have video for all the musical numbers and I'll link  them up when she uploads them.
(I know, can you believe she hasn't done that already?!) ☺

Back when it was warm...

...you know, three days ago.
The kids and I were out on an early morning walk to beat the heat and discovered this running water.
It's probably pretty disgusting, but the water has been running for days and Aidan has been wanting to play in it forever, so I let him play in it that day.
Before I knew it, he was was soaked, and then Ella wanted to play in it too.
Guess it was good I let them play in the water that day since the days since have been rainy and cold.
Aidan's shorts kept falling down on our way home, since the bottoms were wet and heavy.
