Final Goodbye

Grandma Aileen Conrad died yesterday morning (Feb 14th) around 1:00. Dad and mom were in Nashville TN when they got the news, but luckily they already had an early flight back in the morning.
We couldn't have asked for a prettier day to say good bye to grandma. The sun was just beginning to set by the time we had everything ready for the graveside service.
Because you have to bury in 24 hours that meant that alot of the Conrad family could not make it.
Dad is the only one of grandma and grandpa's eight children that was there, so I tried to take a lot of pictures for them to see.

The service started probably close to 5:30 PM

Babies are definitely a blessing to have around at a time like this

We sang "Until Then" and "In The Garden" while Lois played the violin.

Dad said a few words and had everyone in tears.

Lois was playing "Jesus Is My Everything", the song that grandma wrote, while they lowered the casket into the ground.

We're so grateful for all the love and support from friends and family. Especially all the people in the valley and EskDale.

Poor Myrle just buried her sister a week ago today

Mark wasn't a grandchild through blood, but he was very close to both of my grandparents.

A memorial is planned for February 20, Saturday, 3:30 PM @ EskDale

Happy Valentines Day!

We tried to do a photoshoot and it was an epic fail, but we hope everyone has a great Valentines day anyway! ☺

In more sobering news: my grandma, Aileen Conrad, died this morning. She's been in a care center for almost 11 years with very advanced alzheimers so in a way this wasn't sudden or unexpected, and in a lot of ways I think we've all said our goodbye's over the years. I am worried about my 93 yr old grandpa though and how this is going to affect him. So if you would think of him and say a prayer for him today.

Reception #2

So there was another reception for Nick and Tiffany in another part of the state (or a different state, really) for those that couldn't make it to their wedding.
We happened to be in *town*, so we went. Let's be honest, there was food there. ☺ The reception was held in the lodge at Hidden Canyon Ranch.
Nick and Tiff just spent 11 days on a Mexican cruise, anyone else jealous besides me?
I can just hear it now, all the whining I'm going to hear about posting people's pictures.
If you want me to erase your rolls, wrinkles, etc....go ahead and buy me photoshop and I'll happily oblige you.
Ok, not really, you don't really want me to do that.

Oh, look at that cute little girl
Isaac just had surgery to repair his upper lip two days ago.
There were lots of babies there
Here is 13 day old Emma

Random #4985

As you could probably tell, I haven't been taking pictures this week. I'm having one of those years months that I just feel so behind on life. My idea of cooking this week has been frying up quesadillas. I'm fully aware that it is my own horrible management of time that has gotten me to this point.
I have a chart hung up in my kitchen that I adapted from FlyLady.com that used to help me keep up with the cleaning of this place, but I fell off the wagon some time ago. Guess it's time to get back on.  I did spend the other night scrubbing my kitchen and wiping down cabinet fronts. (I use the word *cabinet fronts* loosely here)
The other day Cary and I went and picked up a new dining table. It was one I've had my eye on for months now and I thought I better just get it since the price is good and I really like the design and color. (and that doesn't happen very often) ☺ So we moved the old table outside on our patio figuring that it hasn't snowed for a couple of weeks, we should be fine until I can list and sell it. So it snowed two inches that night and right now it's raining/ snowing.  Awesome.  (Anyone want a table? Hee.)
I told Kenneth that we should plan a Valentines Dinner this year, so we did, and I'm afraid he's been stuck with the majority of the planning and work. Sorry Ken. I've been trying to work on my part for the centerpieces and it seems that every time I want/ can work on them, the universe falls down around my house. lol. Ella has been *somewhat* demanding lately, to say the least. I'm hoping it's just that she's teething and learning to crawl. Between her "phase" and Aidan acting like a typical two year old, I may just become certifiably insane. ☺
Currently, Aidan and I are watching "George" (Curious George is Aidan's favorite show lately, although Yo Gabba Gabba is still a close second) waiting for Ella to wake up for the day.
I've been getting a lot of questions about printing a blog book....so another post about that is coming...soon.
Time to get this day going. Woot! I have a ton of crap stuff to do today and all I really want to do is make sugar cookies with frosting.
