Sukkot 09 (part uno)

Eating out in the Sukkah :-)
I'm a fan of this set up.
Both Kiah and Sharon (the worship leaders) were sick and not able to make it.

Fall Feasts

We're in the middle of observing the Biblical Fall Feasts. We started with Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and are now on the 5th day of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). Some people observe this feast by camping out, but it's a little cold for me, I'll settle for eating outside. :-) We're off to celebrate this weekend with our fellow messianics where we will have fellowship, eat outside in a tent, and do other fun things. I'm a liitle scared since they've still got the flu going around and if you ask me, it's the swine flu. (My dad and Kenneth have it I'm pretty sure) We're STILL trying to recover from the regular flu, so I'd rather not pick up something new.
Hoping all goes well.
Happy Sukkot!

Postpartum Blues

One of the many fun postpartum things we get to go through, (notice I said "one of") is hair loss. I'm shedding worse than an animal and between Aidan's cracker crumbs and my hair, I'm needing to vacuum all. the. time. (notice I said "need to", not that I am.)  :-) The hair loss is a result of hormone changes during pregnancy and you stop shedding hair like a normal person, then after you have a baby and your hormones change again, you shed all the hair that you should have lost during the pregnancy. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be bald before it's all said and done. What's really fun is after you're done shedding and your hair starts to grow back in, you get all these little short hairs that stick out everywhere...so maybe my hair will look like Ella's.

On another note, not directly related,............ or is it?
I'm feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and very depressed. I could use some cheering up.

Saturday Drive

When I was little....I'm still little. When I was younger, my dad would often take our family out for a drive on Saturday afternoons. That being our Sabbath and a day of rest, it was a good way to get us kids out of the house....I guess. :-)

Later, it became a Sabbath afternoon ritual with my Grandpa Heber. A bunch of us kids would pile up in the back of his truck and drive all over the desert.

We were usually in search of wild horses.

Where was I going with this.....?

Oh, yes...

Kenneth! Look what I found. (and no, I didn't get any)

So, anyway. Saturday.

As I've probably mentioned all week, we've been feeling cooped up so we wanted to get out of the house. We couldn't go visit people cause we didn't want to get people sick, and we didn't want to go shopping because we usually try to avoid doing that on Saturdays.

Cary suggested we go for a drive. So we did.

We went up to Park City and surrounding area, like Jordanelle Reservoir, and Heber City.

Their mountains had snow already! Although, so did ours after the storm the next day.

And really, they are the same mountains. Ha.

Holy! bugs on the windshield!

This was on our way back home through Parley's Canyon.

Back in the SLC.

I got camera happy.

Oh Geez...

I tried starting this post like 4 x's and stuff just kept happening.

Lastly, I had just gotten Ella to sleep and I had her in the swing when she all the sudden woke up and starting crying.

I picked her up to soothe her and she proceeded to throw up all over the both of us.

When she was done she gave me a big smile.

Guess she felt better.

So I just got done giving her a bath and putting her back to sleep. Whew.

So, today, we decided that we couldn't stay cooped all day even though we don't really have the energy to do anything, but we desperately kind of needed food and wipes for the kids, so we headed to Sam's Club. Where I fell in love with this.

I'm pretty sure I NEED it. Sure, I have the Canon Rebel XT, but this would sure be a nice upgrade.
So I ask Cary if I can buy it.
"Sure, I'm so tired and stuffed up that you could buy the whole store right now and I wouldn't care" says he.

"SWEET" says me.

Ok, ok, so I didn't really buy it...

yet.

On our way home we saw a head on collision at an intersection. Scary stuff.

For Fun

...since we haven't had much of that this week.

I thought these would be fun in the kids room. Too bad they only lasted about 5 minutes before falling down. I would pin them up but our ceilings have asbestos and are sealed. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to go poking holes. (Yes, that's how OLD our apartment is) ;-)

The kids and I are missing church today. :-( We figured we probably better not spread our love around, but Cary went, since he needs to play the piano.
We took the kids to the doctor yesterday where they were officially diagnosed with the flu. I'm not going to lie, this has been a very trying week with all of us being sick, Aidan having high fevers (up to 105.6 one night), not getting sleep, and Cary having to work. Hopefully we'll make a turn for the better here soon. I'm starting to feel very cooped up since we haven't seen anybody but the doctors office all week.....oh, I guess Tara and Abby came over on Wednesday (very brave of them!) for Yom Kippur to break the fast.

Hope everyone else had a better week than us.

Happy Sabbath!
