Clara started preschool after the Labor Day break, and that makes it easier for me to do stuff with the older kids, so I ended up going to Fillmore on the field trip with the Garrison and Baker kids.
We went to the Living History and Arts Festival and I was a chaperone with the Garrison kids, so my photos are mostly of them...
One of the things they did was learn what it was like in an old school house...I was in awe of the moldings around the windows and doors. (also the crown molding, but I didn't get any photos of that)
We stopped and saw these Alpaca's.
Sang some songs with pioneers
rode a stagecoach
played some old time games
They also watched some veterans retire a flag, danced with some American Indians, learned how to scrub/ wash clothes by hand, watched a blacksmith create a leaf out of iron for the class, as well as a few other exhibits, and then Mrs. Phillips bought all of her students a snow cone (which was probably the highlight of the day for some).
It was a long fun day!
We wore Tayvin and Curtis out, so we did something right. ☺
