Latest House Project

Another one of those projects that you wouldn't have thought would take very long, but here we are on month three...☺
This is where we were at in November, the lofts were still up.

The end of December, Cary took out the loft part and started framing in some walls. We debated taking out the wall altogether, but at that point you already looked straight into the girls room right when you walk in our front door and we wanted to maintain some privacy back there with the bathroom too, so we thought we better keep it and we extended it out a little.

The original plan was to make the wall kind of an accent wall and do the paneled look again (we did that in our back entryway), and then we would have Adam come and do the tape and mudding, but Cary decided he wanted to give it a try. He did a really great job!

The corners of this house are all straight edge corners, and they looked really bad since paint was constantly getting banged and chipped off, so we put trim up but you can't really see it since everything is white...

I think adding trim helps make sense of all the crazy angles. We need to paint, but the ceiling has to be done now and we're not too excited about painting up that high. ☺
