Moving is awesome.

Said no one ever.
Just kidding. I liked moving before I had kids and stuff.

So we traded houses with my mom and dad. It's a house that I lived in for 10 years growing up, although, it's been over 12 years since I've lived there. Mom and I were talking the beginning of October and mom mentioned trading houses, something she has done on and off over the past 3 years. ;) It's only been 2 years since we moved into the other house and we love it, but with 6 people in 1000 sq ft, it's been feeling a little tight. I told mom that we were getting desperate enough lately, that we might take her up on the offer. Going from a newly remodeled 1000 sq ft modern house to a 20 year old house that needs some work, but is almost twice the size.
Long story short, we moved on October 20th.
Dad broke his leg the end of September and was going in for surgery on October 24th, so we were debating whether we wanted to try and move before his surgery or wait until after dad had surgery and could use his leg again, so that was looking like the end of December or January, so we elected to make a mad dash and move on the 20th.
Have you ever tried moving two houses at once and you only have one day? It's tons of fun.
Thanks to Tom and Janille, Kiah, Ben and Chandra's kids, and Tom and Janille's kids, we were able to do it! Sharon provided the food and the nieces were tons of help!
Thanks everyone that helped!
I have to say that it's really weird to live in your parents house, it may take a few years and some changes before it feels like "my" house. (Well, mine and Cary's house.) ;)
So here are some pictures I hurried and took a few days after the move. Lately I forget I have a camera...and the house only looks slightly more put together at this point.
At this point Cary has fixed some of the electrical in the kitchen, moved cabinets around, installed the plumbing for the dishwasher, installed the dishwasher, installed the microwave (including creating a new circuit and outlet for said microwave), and there is space for an oven, he just needs to get the gas to it. I was desperately missing my dishwasher, so now I'm just missing my stove, washer and dryer! ☺

We're extremely grateful to my parents for offering to do this, even though it means a lot of work for us over the next few years and we feel like we just did this. The things you do for your kids... ;)

Mom and dad still have a bunch of stuff in the office.
Notice Ella is in most of the pictures. ☺

We didn't even bother putting our stuff in cabinets since we knew that work was starting immediately on the kitchen so that we could get our appliances in.
Cary starting the process of taking down cabinets.
