December 2018

We had a birthday party for Grandpa Heber, who turned 89.

We celebrated Hanukkah for 8 days/nights and played some Hanukkah games.

Britton played with his new bow set

Clara cuddled with me while I watch Lifetime Christmas movies.

Hanukkah Party on the last night, Megan and Kayli got a crash course in how to fry doughnuts, apple fritters, and chicken.

I helped with decorating and in the kitchen for the EHS Christmas Banquet.

Clara fell asleep waiting for me one night while I was cleaning up.

Some of the many cookies we baked through the month of December.

These were everyone's favorite.

Sometimes I sneak pictures of the kids during church because it's the only time I can get a photo of the four of them together. 😀

We went into SLC the weekend before Christmas to celebrate Sienna's birthday.

A few hours after the birthday party, we were supposed to go to downtown SLC and walk around and see the lights with family, but we ended up at InstaCare with Aidan, which turned into going to Primary Children's ER.
Aidan was admitted to the hospital at 2:30 AM and we were supposed to be heading back home to EskDale that day to make it for the Christmas Eve service. It became pretty clear that we wouldn't be going anywhere for awhile, so we tried to make the best of it that night and bought the kids a gingerbread house kit.

Aidan (and I) ended up spending 2 nights at the hospital, and we weren't hopeful that we would get out Christmas day, but the nurses did everything they could to make it happen and we got out of there around 2:00 PM, just enough time for us to get to EskDale in time for Christmas Dinner with the fam.

It was very weird to show up just in time to eat, since I'm usually heavily involved in the dinner and decorating. I was actually supposed to cook the prime rib and Janille was going to help, but she got to do it all. 😋

After the dinner, my family all came over to our house, which was really nice since it felt like we had missed out on almost all of the family things, both in SLC and at EskDale, being in the hospital.

I've had this game called Bounce Off for awhile, it was a big hit.

The rest of the break was uneventful, and we made some progress on the house renovations.

The kids had a cousin sleepover
