I wish I was the one getting some ZZZ's, but it's definitely not me. ☺

I didn't know it was possible to exist on such little sleep for this many weeks in a row.

House Update

Back in December, before the epic snowstorm, we took out this tree in the back yard.

The backyard was then covered in 1-2' of snow for the last 2 months and finally the snow has been melting the past few weeks. It was suspected that the tree had roots in the sewer pipe that ran through the backyard, and that was discovered to be the case this past week. When the tree was ripped out, it took out the sewer pipe with it, so just another hiccup in home remodeling. ☺

As you can see, work really was slowed down. Hopefully now that it's warmer (maybe) work will go faster.

 Our original deadline was tenatively for around this March and clearly we're not even close to being done and we're pretty tired of all the traveling we've been doing almost every weekend for over a year, so we're working on a plan B.

2 Week Update

What day is it?

Today we went in for Britton's two week check up, and he's up to 9 lbs 1 oz. Considering that babies generally lose weight in the hospital, that's a pretty impressive weight gain. He is still jaundiced, but his bilirubin is slowly going down so we don't have to worry about putting him under lights or anything. Although I like to have him sleep in front of our windows for good measure. ☺
The not so good news, for me, is that the doctor thinks he has colic. (or it's coming on anyway) He's not been sleeping so well at night and he's really fussy around 1:00-4:00 AM plus eating every hour and a half to two hours. This makes for some very tired parents and I've been in a hazy fog the past couple of days.
Cary goes back to work on Wednesday and I'm really not looking forward to that.

This too shall pass...

I know most of my family will think this post is useless without photos, but I haven't pulled out my camera in days. :(

Week Old (Britton)

Britton is already a week old.

He's been a little jaundiced, so we've been having to take him in to get his billirubin tested. We thought it was starting to go down, but when we got him tested on Friday, it had gone back up to 14.7.

We go back in on Monday, so were hoping it's gone down again and we don't have to do any more blood draws.

Ella was not a willing participant for this shoot. ☺
