For Fun

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Whew.....try again.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate the internet right now, but it let me upload a few pictures. Yay! So here are some that made it in before my patience ran out. Most of you are at the conference anyway...for which I'm very jealous of and wish that I would have gone.

Married Life

Everyone asks how married life is.... So far its good, but I have to say that it's not really that different than it was before. I still live in the same "town", live in the same house, have the same job, and Abby still makes me go jogging at night. Cary is just around more now, and I haven't decided if that's a good thing. Just kidding! Married life is great! So really you should ask Cary how married life is. He's the one that had to move and try to cram all of his stuff in my (our) shack. Not to mention living with me and my obssesive compulsiveness is not easy to do, and we're both "old" and set in our ways. Good times, good times.

My cousin Rachel got married yesterday, so Cary and I packed in a van with the rest of my family and drove to Elko, NV for the wedding. The wedding was a lot of fun and I had to change my opinion on Nevada. The southern part of Nevada is still hideously ugly, but the northern part is quite beautiful.

Up next: 4th of July

We aren't expecting as big of a crowd this year since it landed in the middle of the week, but there will still be lots of good food and it will be fun.

Well, I still am unable to post pictures. Dean looked the internet and can't figure out what the problem is, and why it won't let us upload anything. Hopefully we're getting hooked up to a new DSL line by next week and then there will be pictures!

I guess I'm off to help Kenneth hang up posters, so no more to this thrilling post.

Wedding and Honeymoon

The wedding is over. Whew. I don't really remember a whole lot of that day except that it was really long and I wasn't as stressed out as I thought I would be. Everything seemed to go along smoothly thanks to family and friends. It definitely couldn't have happened without everyone's help. So THANK YOU! I'd post pictures, but my photographer went on vacation right after the wedding so it will be a little while before I have them. Sharon has some pictures of the wedding on her site. My wedding post will come later, after the honeymoon post. I was going to post pictures of our Baja-Mexican cruise though, but the internet is being stupid, so pretty much this post is useless. If you've never been on a cruise, let me tell you now that the food alone makes them worth it. 24 hour eating. Amen. Time to start the exercise routine again.

Ramblings of Annette on Life

I was just informed that I only have 4 days until the wedding. Arrgh! Just kidding, my wedding planner has everything under control. (Don't you, Ken?) My colors started out as being sage green and cream, but quickly changed to periwinkle, and over the last couple of months has morphed into blue (and purple) in general. That always happens to me.... I can't stay away from the color blue. The rest you'll just have to wait and see. It hasn't really sunk in that the wedding is that close. I guess it helps that I have to stress about planning the 4th of July events that will happen a week after I get back from the honeymoon. Rachel's wedding is also on the 1st of July, so the next couple of weeks are going to be "interesting". Looking forward to it.....

Well, that was the end of anything interesting that I had to say.....I would post pictures of the many wedding flowers that are cluttering up my house, or of my 11 cats, but I'm not on my computer. Oh, and I don't have 11 cats. Jazz and Raja have abandoned me, and Janille took two of the kittens, so I only have 7 cats right now. Anybody want a kitten???

I guess I need to get working in my yard. Until next time....which will hopefully be sooner than the last time.

Hmmm....

Well, as you've already heard....Cary and I got engaged. It's very weird yet exciting. Not that it was that big of a shock since we'd been talking about it for awhile, but now that we're (I'm) starting the planning, it's sorta strange. I can tell the internet is going to be a great tool for planning a wedding when you live 3 hours away from most of your resources.

I have to say, the highlight was after telling our parents that we were getting married, we went to my house to find Kenneth and Abby.

Ken and Abby- Where did you guys go?

Me- We went to tell the parents that we're getting married. In June.

Looks of shock and awe... and utter disbelief. So they kept asking if we were serious and all that. They didn't believe us for a good 5 minutes or so, until Sharon came over and confirmed that is was true. I was laughing hysterically the whole time.....

Some of you have requested updates on the planning, so I'll see what I can do.

Suuure...

I'm writing to express my anger over the fact that there was a freaking blizzard last night. Doesn't the weather know that it's MARCH!?! Luckily the snow is already melting and so far that is my only consolation.

Ok, I feel better.

Yay! It's spring break for some of you next week. Can't wait to see you and hang out.

I'm done.
