Hmmm...sleep

I lied about what I'm listening to. I put what I want to listen to as opposed to what I really am listening to. As much as I love watching "Sing Along with Disney Songs" and other such things, what I'd really rather be doing is taking a nap. It was a long night for the 3 of us last night. Kayli wouldn't go to sleep until the wee hours of the morning, and I didn't go to bed until about 1:00. Starting around 3:00 it was constant motion for me, Megan, and my stupid cat. Needless to say, 6:45 came very early and Caleb took delight in waking everyone up. Megan is/was sick by the way, and that's why she kept getting up. Madison is a whole different story and I'm sure I'll fill you in some other time.....

Ok, Kayli fell asleep so I'm off to see if I can take a nap.

Caleb finishing up his homework. (Homework? What is this word you speak of?)

Kayli & Caleb........watching Mulan II

I'm getting a lecture and amazingly enough it's not from Megan.

Ahhh....a fuzzy picture, but we all look sort of happy.

I wait so long to write that I can't remember what happened in my life.

Talk about memory loss.

It was a holiday weekend for most of the college kids, so they came out. Friday night we watched DeLovely (however it is spelled) and I really liked that movie. It was also the NBA All Star weekend, but I only watched the actual All Star game. I really wanted to watch the dunk contest, but I went to dad's study class instead........ There is a Jazz game tonight, much to my delight. The first in over a week...here is the bad news. Raul hurt his OTHER knee and he is out for the rest of the season. Poor guy can't get a break from the injuries. He played all of last years season, but he missed the whole season before that, and he's missed (and will miss) a lot of games this season.

I've been promoted at work. Which basically means that I have more things to do and more responsibility i.e...I get to boss more people around.....yipee. I am also doing the ordering and inventory so it will be interesting to see how things go.

The bookmobile came the other day and I decided to get more books so that I would spend less time on the internet...so naturally I spend more time on the internet than ever before. It's out of my control!

Valerie got a job at the Abundant Life Academy, or whatever it is they are calling themselves. It's the school for troubled teens that they have at Hidden Canyon. Anyway, point of that was to say that I have the house to myself alot these days because she's been staying up there nights most of the time. Well, myself and the cats....although, if Madison continues to wake me up at ungodly hours in the morning she might disappear. Ok, I would never do that, but I sure do think about it when she sits on my face and starts licking my nose. Arrgghh! I usually wake up enough to realize that she needs to go outside... She never did this before she had kittens. Raja doesn't like the kittens and is never at my house anymore... Jazz is my little wanderer...disappearing for days at a time and then showing up very hungry and dirty. Hee hee, I just went off about my cats again....

It's been an interesting week since I last wrote.

On Thursday I sprained my foot/ankle pretty bad...we won't talk about how it happened. In any case, I've still had to work so I've been hobbling around and my foot was a pretty combination of purple, blue, yellow, and green. Ben, having had many "sports" injuries helped me out with wrapping and icing. He was there laughing at me when it happened, so he had to make up for it somehow...........

Valerie (my housemate) found one of the kittens dead yesterday. I'm not sure why it died. Madison seems to be a good mom and the kitten looked like it had been eating so. Sadly, kittens dying is something I'm very familiar with.

My cats have made me realize that I'm going to be screwed if I ever have kids as far as being consistent. When I first got the kittens I started out with they couldn't come in the house. I always hated cats in the house, I'm allergic to cats so I wanted some what of an allergy free zone. Then it was, ok, they can come in but they can't eat in the house or stay in at night. Well, Valerie moved in and wanted them to sleep with her, so I was ok with that as long as they were shut up in her room. Then Raja got hurt and wasn't supposed to go outside so we started feeding him inside, and then Madison had her kittens and moved them in my closet. I've lost all the battles....I keep saying that when the kittens are older and it's warmer outside that the food and the cats are all going outside... Until then I have chronic allergies but the cats are cute. The good part is that they go over to my parents house and hang out over there alot.

Anyway...yes my life is boring enough that I have to talk about my cats. It's the All Star break now and the Jazz don't have a game for a week. The Jazz have a ton of injuries and are struggling once again, but I'm still trying to work out a way to go to their next game.

I watched the Notebook...good movie. The whole part with the Grandma just hit's a little too close to home with what my Grandpa is going through but he still visits her for those "glimpses".

I'm out.

Winter came back.

It snowed last night, but not very much. We have been living in a fog haze for the past few days, but today is sunny and brighter thanks to the snow on the ground.

I'm happy today because the Jazz beat the Sonics last night. If you don't know anything about the NBA. The Jazz are the worst team in their division right now, and the Sonics are the best team (3rd best in the NBA). So it was a pretty exciting game, and to top it all off. Raul was a monster and he had an awesome game. 20 points and 11 assists, Ok, well, that's a monster game for him........ The important thing is that we WON. Yes, I'm on the team.......

The Jazz traded PG Carlos Arroyo last week. At first I didn't really like them getting rid of him, but now I'm thinking it was a good thing. Good luck in Detroit Carlos!

I've decided that I'm going to be interested in soccer this spring/summer. Salt Lake City got a soccer team and their first season starts in April.....around the team that the Jazz season ends. The soccer teams' name is Real Salt Lake, named after Real Madrids' teams where Raul originally played in Spain. We'll see how that goes.

Not much has been going on to write home about. Work, play, and all that good stuff. I have no deep thoughts....about anything.

I watched the movie Troy the other day. Yes, it takes me awhile to see movies. I actually liked that movie. I think it helped that we skipped most of the battle scenes.

The other day while I was cooking, the power went out. That was interesting trying to cook for 50 people in the dark. Luckily I was making spaghetti so most of the meal was on the gas powered stove. The breadsticks were interesting since I had to cook them in the gas powered oven... Ok, now that I just told you how spoiled I am I'm off to eat.

It felt like Spring today.

(Photo taken by Gerry Childs)
It was around 50-60 range, warm enough to not wear a jacket for most of the day. It was very nice so Abby and I went for a walk after dance practice......I'm just waiting for it to change and drop 4 ft of snow.

Raja has still been hanging out at my house alot. He's doing better, but he had an internal infection so he's had these blood blister things. They pop and start dripping blood. Okay, I'm sick now................. He's taking antibiotics now, and he seems to be doing a lot better. Madison still hasn't had her kittens, but she sure has been acting funny.

Well, the Jazz beat the Lakers and now they have a little vacation. Next game at Memphis. Maybe they'll get back to winning games. Hope so.

I've been working on a ugly flannel like blanket, and I'm almost done. It will be really warm and comfortable atleast. It seems that my really ugly blankets are the most warm and comfortable ones.

Janille and I went to Provo the other day and I finally got to eat at Cafe Rio again. I've been craving their food for about a month now.

Yes, my life is SO exciting! I'm out.

It's a beautiful day today.

Sunny and freezing cold, but the Jazz beat the Suns last night, and they beat the Spurs on Monday night. Raul has even been getting some playing time, and right now I'm having an online shopping rampage. Life just doesn't get any better than this. Ok, maybe it does.......

The bad news is that Raja (one of my cats) showed up hurt yesterday. Dad thinks he got hit by a car. The poor thing can't walk very well and you can tell he's in a lot of pain. He's been sleeping all night and all day on my couch.

We are counting down the days until my baby (Madison, my other cat) has her babies. Cat's are as bad as rabbits if you let them be, so yes, Madison is pregnant, and I didn't want my dad to spay her just yet. I wanted her to atleast have one batch of kittens. Madison is pretty sure that she's going to have them at my parents house and mom's pretty sure she doesn't want them there. We'll see who wins this battle........

Well, I love that this post is all about my cats. It could be all about Basketball, so pick your evils. It's almost time for While You Were Out. So I'm off.

I'm back! Did you miss me?

I made a resolution to update this more often...hopefully it works out better than most of my resolutions......

I'm still at Eskdale "working". I actually like what I'm doing right now and I'm very content with how things are, frighteningly so, actually..... My birthday came a went last month too, and now mom is more determined than ever to get me married. It's still weird to not be in school, but I don't miss all the things that go with school.

Winter came quickly this week, dumping snow and bringing more cold. I was quite enjoying the mild winter we WERE having. Luckily I did finally dig my ditch at the end of October before it got too cold and so I've had internet at the shack. It's great.

Last month we teamed up with the highschool and put on a fundraiser dinner for 3 nights in a row. The highschool sings, the orchestra plays, and then they perform a play while they eat dinner. We had about 80 people attend each night, so that was fun preparing, cooking, and serving all that food. It was a lot of work, but it was fun. I'm glad though that life has slowed down, and I'm just cooking for the community once again.

All of the college kids have been back during their break for the most part, so I've been hanging out with Kenneth, Sharon, Abby, and sometimes Cindy. Of course they all leave me when I want to watch the Jazz games. That's when Kiah and Alex usually show up. Good times, good times....Although the Jazz suck so bad right now that it's becoming painful to watch the games. Being the optimistic person that I am, I keep watching and analyzing to see how/when they will start playing better.

I don't know if I ever mentioned that I got three kittens last summer. So yeah, I got three kittens last summer, so I will leave you with pictures of my kids. Of course they are bigger, fatter, and lazier now, but they are still cute.
