Chris and Amanda visit

Chris, Amanda, Gemma, and Jack came from Georgia for a visit. They spent a few days at EskDale  and then we all went in to SLC for a family BBQ. Some pictures of their time here.
The kids flew kites with Chris and Grandpa Greg

We visited the Baker Barnyard

Then our plan was to go to Wheeler campground and let the kids do some hiking and I had asked Breanna if the road was open, and she assured me that it was...
It wasn't.
So we stopped at the Mather Overlook for a minute

and then we ended up doing a cave tour

and then we visited Alyshia at the cafe and had some ice cream.

In SLC, we stayed at Josh and Kiera's house...

the next day we ended up going to a climbing place, we were just planning on watching but the kids assured us they wanted to climb.

Aidan and Britton were not that into climbing with the harness and all the gear, but Ella was!
We later found a kids climbing room and we should have just stuck with that for Aidan and Britton, they loved that room.

Overall, I think the kids had a great time there!

First part of May...

Willow and Clara checking each other out at Matthew's birthday party

I like to wait and eat breakfast after I've fed the kids and gotten the older two on the bus, but this means that Clara is usually snuggling with me...in this picture I was getting lots of, "I love you Queen Mommy." but often it's that she wants to sit on my lap while I'm trying to eat. ☺

This time of year the jr high and high school have P.E. outside on the big lawns or the track team will be out running around, so sometimes Britton and Clara like to watch (or participate).

On May 11, both of the elementary's took a field trip to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, where we visited Museum of Ancient History, and the Museum of Natural Curiosity. I went as a chaperon, and Aidan was in my group.

The favorite activity by far in the ancient history museum was this room with sand and water. ha.
I had specific instructions from Aidan to take a picture of this dinosaur so that we could show Britton.
The Museum of Natural Curiosity was more interactive, and we only had 2 hours slotted  and I think my group only made it about half way through the building. The kids were having so much fun in each place that it was hard to get them to move on and see more. I think one of the favorite rooms by far was the one involving water. (more water!)

Wind tunnel

It was a very long day, but everyone seemed to have a great time.

Aidan started piano lessons last summer with Doug, and Ella started in the fall with Tina, so this spring recital was their first recital.
I didn't even think to bring my camera, so I just had my phone on me and they look like angels at the piano. ;)

Ella, Matthew, and Aidan!
They did really great!

Crazy weather, crazy kids

I don't know what we're going to do with this boy... he keeps us on our toes.

Awhile back I was giving the boys haircuts and Ella told me she wanted her hair cut... if any of you remember our history with this, you would know that this makes me apprehensive. ☺ She insisted, so I cut small amounts off at a time, and she was adamant that she wanted it even shorter... so that turned out okay, (and she's actually saying she even wants it shorter). Then she said she wanted bangs, again I was apprehensive, but went ahead and cut her some bangs.
She hated the bangs.
A few weeks have passed and she's decided she likes the bangs, but she still wouldn't let me take a picture so I had to sneak these. (she thought I was just looking at my phone while she was telling me something) ☺

I mentioned that we had a really bad wind storm a little over a week ago.
It was really crazy, and we couldn't sleep because it was so loud and sounded like our house was going to blow away. It knocked some trees over, and there were tree limbs all over the place.  I was really sad about this Russian Olive tree, it's my landscape photo tree. ☺

I took this picture with it in January.
Anyway, the wind blew in rain which was nice since it seemed to clean the landscape of all the dirt that had just been blown around. :P

It drizzled for 3-4 days, it felt like we had blown up to the northwest or something, but it was nice.
When we remodeled, added on to our other house that mom and dad now live in, the contractor did not do the roofing right (argh!) and so when it rains quite a bit, there are places in the roof that leak, so mom had some leaking in their office and Cary is a nice son-in-law and was on the roof trying to temporarily get it to stop leaking.
