Birthday BBQ for Aidan and Alyshia

Aidan and Alyshia had a combined BBQ birthday party this year at Garrison reservoir.

I wasn't able to pull my camera out until towards the end so I only have a few pictures.

Grandpa's 97th Birthday

Grandpa turned 97 on August 5.

Grandpa is still very independent, but since he's not leaving his house, some of us grandkids and my parents are taking turns taking care of him by going over and making sure he has food and eats at least two meals a day.

For Grandpa's birthday, Kath organized to have his favorite meal for lunch (Roast, potatoes, ice cream, etc...) Grandpa hasn't left his house since the end of May (other than doctor appointments) so we weren't sure if we'd get him over to the center. Dad was able to convince him to go and I think he had a good time.

Weekend in SLC

The first weekend of August we headed in to SLC for a mini vacation/ birthday trip for Aidan. He's been wanting to go to the Living Planet Aquarium and we've been saying we'll take him. The first day I mostly tortured Cary and the kids by going shopping. ☺ When we got to Josh and Kiera's, Ella put Jordy to work.

 The next morning we headed to the aquarium. Noah, Abby, and Audrey met up with us there.

 The kids had fun trying to pet the little sting ray,

 playing a bingo game for shark week,

 they loved the little penguins and otters.

Britton loved it there, and it sure was fun trying to keep up with him.

Cousins! Just missing Dillon, Cameron, and Gemma. (Clara is sort of in the picture)

After the aquarium we drove up to Farmington to eat at Parkstone and visit Kiera at work. It was fun, great food, and relaxing. (as relaxing as it can be eating out with 6 kids) ☺
It was a great weekend.
