Dad's Surprise Bash

As I mentioned in my previous post... we had planned a surprise party for my dad's 60th birthday.
I think he was sufficiently surprised. ☺
He was expecting to go to a prayer meeting and got a "SURPRISE" from about 100 people, and a little concert of some of his favorite songs, or songs just sung or played by friends and family members.
Afterwards we gorged on apple pie, strawberry rhubarb pie, and ice cream.
(some of dad's favorite desserts)

Birthday Party...

Dad's birthday was on November 4th, (thursday) and it's his 60th birthday this year so we (Sharon) were planning a big suprise party for him complete with concert and everything for Saturday, but we thought we better still do something for him earlier so he didn't get suspicious.
So Friday night we had a spur of the moment get-together for supper, pie, and ice cream.

Where did it go?

I seem to have lost my blogging mojo.
Some could argue that it's been gone the whole time, but whatever...
Here's to hoping I find it soon! ☺

House Update #49085940

Sorry, all I write about anymore are house updates.
It's kind of all consuming right now.

It feels like we got got quite a bit done on Sunday.
Cary and Alex finished running electrical wire, installed recessed lighting in the kitchen, Alex installed my kitchen fan, and Ryan started on taking out the back porch.

Alex and Kenneth putting the fan together while Crystal supervises. ☺

They also did some work under the house.
Kenneth took this picture for me since I don't go under houses.
If you look hard enough, you'll see Cary in the background there.

A while back, I posted pictures of the front yard, but now we've removed some trees.
I say "we" loosely. It was really Brad that cut them down.
There used to be an apricot tree growing on the corner of the house and it was just way too close, so it had to go.

That stump right there used to be a willow tree, and I HATE willows, so it had to go... I may plant another tree there, but we shall see.
