Music of the Night -- A Broadway Concert

This weekend was the annual Summer concert at EskDale. ☺ I don't even know who to give credit for putting together this concert, but I think the first one was in 2006 and Rosaleen and Sharon planned it. I was in the first one, but hadn't been again until last years concert. This year they are going to have 3 concert nights spread throughout the summer.

The weather has been fickle and the concert almost had to be moved indoors since it has been so windy and cold,
but they persevered
It was REALLY cold, so you'll notice all the performers wearing jackets.
Sharon's lament, err.... "Adelaide's Lament"
Dad playing "Summertime"
Jessica, Brianna, and Sharon -" I Know It's Today"

(notice all the coats, you'd think it was January, not June) ☺
Mark - "Alive"
Aren't the stage and lighting so cool?!
Girls Ensemble - "For Good"
John & Brianna - "If I Said I Loved You"

Kiah & John - "Lily's Eyes"
Awesome job everyone! The music was awesome as well as the stage, lighting etc...
Sharon does have video for all the musical numbers and I'll link  them up when she uploads them.
(I know, can you believe she hasn't done that already?!) ☺

Back when it was warm...

...you know, three days ago.
The kids and I were out on an early morning walk to beat the heat and discovered this running water.
It's probably pretty disgusting, but the water has been running for days and Aidan has been wanting to play in it forever, so I let him play in it that day.
Before I knew it, he was was soaked, and then Ella wanted to play in it too.
Guess it was good I let them play in the water that day since the days since have been rainy and cold.
Aidan's shorts kept falling down on our way home, since the bottoms were wet and heavy.

Burnin' Up the Road

We've been putting a lot of miles on our van over the last six weeks or so...it can get kind of old, especially when you're making the same trip, so I started passing time by taking photos. ☺
These were not taken all on the same day. Some were taken over a month ago before things were even starting to green up.
Looking out over the Great Salt Lake.

I've always thought this valley was so pretty. (it's the one right before Eureka, don't know it's name) I've always thought it would be kind of cool to live here, except for the yearly wildfires and that fact that I think it's conservation land.
Looking toward the Little Sahara sand dunes
it was REALLY windy that day and there was lots of sand in the air. All the poor suckers over there trying to ride their motorcycles and 4-wheelers.
By Sevier "Lake"
Caught a few wildflowers on the side of the road...Cary wouldn't let me stop to take pictures. The wildflowers of all colors were everywhere our last trip, so pretty.
Highway in the sky... I think I counted over 20 new plane trails. Busy day.
Geologists dream.
I took this picture of the Ibex flat the day before the Barsoom filming crew descended in. They made camp right in front of that little mountain right there in the middle of the hard pan. When we drove past again a few days later we were wondering what was going on since there were so many trailers and vehicles out there and people driving all over.
Rumor has it that Hugh Jackman was there! Had I known.....☺
Notch Peak
Kings Canyon
Sometimes, this is the best. sight. ever. ☺
When I was a senior in high school,
our entire junior high and high school went on a 30 day long choir trip across the US,
 we had tons of fun,
went through a bunch of states,
saw cool sites,
but I remember coming over this pass
and the sight of Mt Wheeler
made us all VERY happy!
The End.
