Beauty and the Beast

Man, I'm so behind. I'm trying to catch up slowly, but things have just been slightly insane and I find myself choosing a few hours of sleep over a couple of minutes on the internet. (until tonight) ☺
Last night, we went to the production of Beauty and the Beast that the EHS and jr high put on. It was so well done and entertaining, but I've always loved of couple of songs from the broadway show, so it was fun to hear them sing the songs and see the whole show. I was so proud of everyone for doing such a good job from the acting, singing, lighting, sound, etc... I only took about 450 pictures. ;o) Choosing a couple to post was tons of fun. Well done all who were involved with putting on that show!

Uhhhh, uhhhhhh....

We went to get the van serviced and came home with a new (to us) 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. Yikes! BUT, I love it.

Valentines Dinner

As I previously mentioned, we had planned a dinner for Valentines Day.
That morning Sharon, Kenneth, Crystal, Rosaleen, Janille and I were all at the kitchen deciding what we should do since things had changed during the night with my Grandma passing away.
We decided that we should go ahead and still have the dinner since we would need a meal after the graveside service anyway and this would keep some of us busy and that was a good thing. (For me!)
Janille and Sharon were the ones that were supposed to do the cooking for our meal, but Janille had gotten the job to be the one to tell Grandpa about Grandma.
After an interesting series of events (like waiting for Grandpa to wake up, getting his attention to open his door with him being deaf through all his locked doors, etc...) Janille was finally able to break the news, but then we knew that people needed to be with Grandpa during this time so Janille, Sharon and Rosaleen spent the better part of the day with him while waiting for Dad, Mom, and Chandra to bring Grandma from Delta.
All that to say, that Crystal stepped in big time!  She came in mopped floors and took over a lot of the cooking while Kenneth and I were doing the decorating. She also stayed behind while we all left for the graveside to get things done.  Thanks Crystal! I don't know all the things you did, but the whole thing probably would have been a big mess without your help. ☺
All the kids under 16 had a pizza party in the hall.

Kenneth made up a Valentine Quiz and graded them and the highest score got a prize. (Ann won with the high percentage of 75%) You could get extra credit by singing "All you need is love" or writing a love poem.
Kenneth going over the answers to his quiz.
We had a lot of fun and I'm glad we didn't cancel.
