Tooth! (maybe)

Ella has a tooth on bottom that popped through. (as I mentioned yesterday)

I was trying to get a picture of it, but I'm not sure it really worked.

I can see it faintly, but I know where to look. ;o)

She cracks me up.

So does he. (Giving me "five")

I decided to post rather than clean my house, which is what I should be doing, however, the kids are refusing naps again and I feel defeated (deflated?) ha ha. So I'm sitting on my tush and pretending that I'm doing something useful. It's great fun.

Weird weather...

and other things. Lets just say that I'm glad the weather forecasts have been wrong thus far...maybe if you've been out driving you have a different story to tell, but hey, I'll take the sunny day and no snow that we have today.

We did get a storm, but the low pressure brought with it warmer temps so it first melted and rained all the snow that we DID have before it dropped some more.

It's already melted though.

Currently I'm snuggling up with Ella who is sleeping on my chest, her wild hair is tickling my cheek and it's making it rather hard to type... Jealous? (unless of course you are Jenny or Valerie and you're like "Um, heck no. I'm ready to NOT be holding a baby) ;o) Did I mention Ella popped a tooth? I believe another is on it's way too so in the meantime she thinks that I'm the best place to sleep.
Good thing she's cute...

Also, be jealous that my husband cleans my kitchen and does the dishes. (see, he's even cleaning my crockpot!)
What a guy.

For some reason I thought these pictures were cute.

Happy Hanukkah!

This post actually has nothing to do with Hanukkah, really. We actually didn't even have church today because of snow

so we just hung out at home.

Abby came to visit for awhile.

Me doing my FAVORITE job. (NOT!) I loathe unloading the dishwasher.

and then after the kitchen was clean, I made Rum Cake.

Aidan ate a snack and tried to see what was on TV at the same time.

P.S. I didn't take any of these pictures, I believe the credit goes to my better half.

Sweetness

The first few months of their life you spend time trying to get pictures of them with their eyes open...

a few months later I find myself wanting more shots of her chubby sweet face, sleeping

She wasn't really cooperating this day, it's like she knew I was taking picures so she kept moving her head.

I'll just have to keep trying.

First Haircut!

So Aidan's hair is finally getting pretty long, so I've been thinking I need to trim up his hair and I knew it was going to be a traumatic experience. Yesterday was the perfect day since Aidan is refusing naps these days.

He doesn't know what he's in for yet.

I put Ella in her crib so she was somewhere "safe", but that didn't last long since she wanted to be part of the "fun".

After the ten-ish minutes that it took, it's all over, notice the tears.

Don't you just feel sorry for him with that forlorn face?

Ella's new spot and she enjoyed the show.

Happier times after it was all done.

Cause I'm random like that...

First

Ella slept until 6:30 this morning. Woot woot. (I did cereal and Tylenol again)
However, Aidan was awake at 11:30 last night wanting to party. Ugh.

(Sharon took these pictures of Ella, while babysitting for me last Sunday)

Ella had pooped all over her outfit so Sharon had to take her clothes off, and that makes this little girl happy!

Secondly, on Friday night after we got back home from eating out, Cary went in our room to practice the piano since he was going to be playing at church the next morning. I was on the couch feeding Ella and also had the laptop in my lap. Aidan came and sat by me and after a few minutes both he and Ella fell asleep. About 30 minutes later my arm was about to fall off and die from holding Ella, but I couldn't put the laptop down because Aidan was in the spot where I would normally be able to put it down. So what do I do? I can't call out to Cary because in order for him to hear me I would have to yell really loud and wake up both kids.
I just happened to be talking/ writing to my brother, Kenneth, on IM so I asked him to call Cary's phone and tell him that I needed help in the other room. So he did, and Cary sheepishly appeared in the living room to help me. :o) Ah, technology. Anyway, I thought it was kind of funny.

Thirdly, my cousin, Jenny had her baby boy yesterday morning.

They've named him Isaac Steven and he's adorable. He's my aunt Sharla's first male grandbaby among 5 girls. (well, the 5th one is still on the way) :o)
Congratulations Bryan, Jenny and Ava!

What did you say?

I can't hear you over the sound of how cute my family is

Ella has been waking up numerous times a night again, making me feel as though I have a newborn again.

So I've been trying to figure what's going on and whether or not she's just teething or if I needed to start her on solids. I was wanting to wait until she was 6 months old, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

So the other day we fed her some rice cereal and I gave her Tylenol (in case of teething) she slept until 6:00 the next morning. Perfect.

The next day I thought, well, maybe she doesn't need the cereal and I'll just try the Tylenol if she's just having teething pain. She woke up like 4 x's between 11:00-3:00. Fail.

So the next night I tried just cereal and no Tylenol and she did sleep until 3:00 but then woke up every couple hours after that.

Last night we didn't give her cereal because Cary and I went to Outback Steakhouse last night for my birthday. (Without kids, Thank you Abby and Tara!) and Ella was up every 1-1/2 - 2 hours.

I've decided she needs cereal AND she's teething.
The saga continues.... :o)
