Happy New Year

I work too much. Therefore I really don't have things to write about.

My birthday was a few weeks ago and Cary got me a diamond white gold necklace it's very pretty. I also got a power screwdriver that I had my eye on as well as a paint set (Oil, Acrylic, and watercolor) that will come in handy when I decide to get ambitious on my own after my painting class is over. Our painting class is really fun, you all should try it. I think it has something to do with all the fumes in the room and everyone starts getting silly.

Cary has been home for awhile for the holiday break and it's been really nice. To help break him into the family the entire Hanks family got together last week in a lodge up Cedar Break canyon. There were about 50 of us and we all spent the night nice and cozy like. Actually it was a lot of fun. Pictures will follow. The lodge was a nice place for our big family to meet. The deer heads and stuffed birds on the wall were a nice touch too.

The flu has been going around and so far it's managed to miss me, I just have a gigantic cold sore on my bottom lip instead.

Cary is playing basketball right now and I'm thinking a nap is in order so that I can stay awake for the New Years Eve party!

Nick working it.
Jesse eating cheesecake, Mmmmm....cheesecake.
Dad playing the piano

A view of one of the main rooms, not sure what all the floaties are......Too bad I didn't get a picture of the room where the seven dwarfs slept. ;-)

Whew

Well, I'm back.... I spent the week in Ogden with Cary last week, and then over the weekend we drove up to Logan to visit Sharon, Kenneth, and Abby and I visited with a few old friends. The next day we drove down to Salt Lake where we had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with the Faber family. After that I met up with Janille, Bonnie, Chandra, and Jenny in Orem and we spent the next two days shopping. I'm no marathon shopper like Janille and Chandra, so by the end of day two I was really dragging. It was a lot of fun though. Now I'm back home trying to catch up on everything.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Trip

Well, Sukkot went really well, I missed the last half of the week driving up to Portland for a wedding. It was a very long 17 hour drive, but "quick" in that we were there for a day before driving another 17 hours back. We traveled with most of Cary's family in a 15 passenger van. Good times, good times.

As you can tell from these pictures, the traveling for the men was rough.

These are pictures from the wedding reception. Now I'm back home, I got up this morning and decided I didn't want to work today.

Rose got her McLeods Daughters season 1 so we watched a couple of episodes. Yay! Why did they stop showing that in the USA????

Enjoy the pictures, I'm out.

Meh...

Fasting for the 3.5 hours that I've already been without food is draining my brain of all the things that I was going to write for an update. It's going to be a really long day tomorrow.

In other news, its' Media day for the Utah Jazz. Yay! Just kidding, try to contain your excitement.

I spent last week in Ogden with Cary, it was a nice week filled with lots of rest and relaxation. It was so awesome to be able to stay in bed when he had to get up for school. (Usually, I'm always the one that has to get out of bed first and I'm very bitter over this.) I took a lot of work with me that I had intended to do, but never got around to it. It was lovely, and I watched more TV in a week, than I did all last year. Back to real life...........

The leaves are changing everywhere so yesterday the family decided to take advantage of all the fall color and planned a picnic in the mountains. We had steak, potato salad, and smores....Mmm, Mmm....why am I talking about food?

Anyway, I took a few pictures and I'm no photographer, but enjoy. Also, I apologize for all the grammer and spelling mistakes in advance, but I'm too lazy to re-read this and correct anything.

Getting the tent ready for Sukkot
Just some pictures of fall.
Nice Haircut. :-)

For Fun

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Whew.....try again.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate the internet right now, but it let me upload a few pictures. Yay! So here are some that made it in before my patience ran out. Most of you are at the conference anyway...for which I'm very jealous of and wish that I would have gone.

Married Life

Everyone asks how married life is.... So far its good, but I have to say that it's not really that different than it was before. I still live in the same "town", live in the same house, have the same job, and Abby still makes me go jogging at night. Cary is just around more now, and I haven't decided if that's a good thing. Just kidding! Married life is great! So really you should ask Cary how married life is. He's the one that had to move and try to cram all of his stuff in my (our) shack. Not to mention living with me and my obssesive compulsiveness is not easy to do, and we're both "old" and set in our ways. Good times, good times.

My cousin Rachel got married yesterday, so Cary and I packed in a van with the rest of my family and drove to Elko, NV for the wedding. The wedding was a lot of fun and I had to change my opinion on Nevada. The southern part of Nevada is still hideously ugly, but the northern part is quite beautiful.

Up next: 4th of July

We aren't expecting as big of a crowd this year since it landed in the middle of the week, but there will still be lots of good food and it will be fun.

Well, I still am unable to post pictures. Dean looked the internet and can't figure out what the problem is, and why it won't let us upload anything. Hopefully we're getting hooked up to a new DSL line by next week and then there will be pictures!

I guess I'm off to help Kenneth hang up posters, so no more to this thrilling post.
