January 2019

Cary (and Kenneth) got the new window in the new bedroom.

Aidan was sick again, but thankfully we just ended up taking a nebulizer home. No hospital visits.

We went to SLC for a family get together, and we finally stopped to see East High, where the High School Musical movies were made.

Riding the bus to Ely for the spelling bee. It was the Spelling Bee for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

Aidan ended up winning the 6th grade spelling bee

and then won the district spelling bee. (meaning that he beat the 7th and 8th grade winners)

While the 6th graders were at the spelling bee, the 3rd and 4th graders were swimming.

Working out in the yard in January! 😀

Real Time

I'm trying to get back into blogging, and here is my first "real time" blog in quite some time. 😉 Brought to you by a shoulder injury that has sidelined me for the past week and half, giving me time to do things I rather not be doing. No offense, I'd just rather be outside working!
I'd been looking forward to this time of year, Breanna was here during her spring break, and helped me dig up sprinkler heads for a few days, (so I can convert all the public planting areas over to a drip system) and I've been putting down mulch. I was just getting ready to start laying down the drip tubing and I woke up with a sore shoulder and according to Dr Google, I have a rotator cuff injury. I've been trying to rest it, but it's still pretty sore, so I will be seeing an actual Dr tomorrow and hopefully have some answers. In the meantime, I'm trying to be realistic about my goals for spring which means a lot of scaling back on my original goals. 😔

December 2018

We had a birthday party for Grandpa Heber, who turned 89.

We celebrated Hanukkah for 8 days/nights and played some Hanukkah games.

Britton played with his new bow set

Clara cuddled with me while I watch Lifetime Christmas movies.

Hanukkah Party on the last night, Megan and Kayli got a crash course in how to fry doughnuts, apple fritters, and chicken.

I helped with decorating and in the kitchen for the EHS Christmas Banquet.

Clara fell asleep waiting for me one night while I was cleaning up.

Some of the many cookies we baked through the month of December.

These were everyone's favorite.

Sometimes I sneak pictures of the kids during church because it's the only time I can get a photo of the four of them together. 😀

We went into SLC the weekend before Christmas to celebrate Sienna's birthday.

A few hours after the birthday party, we were supposed to go to downtown SLC and walk around and see the lights with family, but we ended up at InstaCare with Aidan, which turned into going to Primary Children's ER.
Aidan was admitted to the hospital at 2:30 AM and we were supposed to be heading back home to EskDale that day to make it for the Christmas Eve service. It became pretty clear that we wouldn't be going anywhere for awhile, so we tried to make the best of it that night and bought the kids a gingerbread house kit.

Aidan (and I) ended up spending 2 nights at the hospital, and we weren't hopeful that we would get out Christmas day, but the nurses did everything they could to make it happen and we got out of there around 2:00 PM, just enough time for us to get to EskDale in time for Christmas Dinner with the fam.

It was very weird to show up just in time to eat, since I'm usually heavily involved in the dinner and decorating. I was actually supposed to cook the prime rib and Janille was going to help, but she got to do it all. 😋

After the dinner, my family all came over to our house, which was really nice since it felt like we had missed out on almost all of the family things, both in SLC and at EskDale, being in the hospital.

I've had this game called Bounce Off for awhile, it was a big hit.

The rest of the break was uneventful, and we made some progress on the house renovations.

The kids had a cousin sleepover
