4th of July Weekend!

 Clara loves selfies.

The morning of the 3rd we had our annual Run/Walk-a-Song and Cary and I both participated, mom watched the kids for us. (All of the race pictures were taken by Sharon)

Cary finished in 24:44

On Sunday after most of the visiting family had all gone back home, we went up to Hidden Canyon to hang out with Donnie and Christina (and family) and have a birthday party for Landon.

Ella's birthday, Dallas, End of June...

June was a crazy busy month, but it was also a month of seeing lots of friends and family, some I hadn't seen for many years. Between Chad's wedding, Grandpa's memorial, and the HRN conference in Dallas, it was just a month of reconnecting with people and that was nice.
The week after the memorial, the kids had a week of summer school, and on our way to the school Britton really wanted to go, and I told him we'd clear it with the teacher since he's not going into Kindergarten yet. We cleared it with the teacher and he was all excited until she told him to pick a desk and then he burst into tears. He went home with me and didn't mention going to summer school again. Better luck next year. ☺

That same morning, Shawn flew over EskDale on his way back to California from SLC, can you spot his plane?

Kenneth, Sharon, and I headed to the cemetery to clean up grandpa and grandma's headstones one night

Making cupcakes for Ella's birthday! We literally had one day that week to squeeze her party in there.

The next day, my dad, Sharon, Kenneth and I drove to Vegas to get on a plane to Dallas...however, our plane that was supposed to leave at midnight didn't leave until 4:30 (or 3:30? I can't remember, this is why I have to blog in real time.) I just know we arrived in Dallas around breakfast time which made for a reallllllly long day. ☺

Sadly I didn't get very many pictures from the weekend, but this was a cute little park that we walked past every day.
One night when our meetings were over and we were supposed to be walking back to our hotel that was probably a good mile or so away, it was pouring outside and a nice little lightning storm. Dad ran a mile to our car to bring it back and get us. ☺ He's faster and in better shape than all of us.

Downtown Dallas from John Diffenderfer's room (27th floor) Eeek. They also had an elevator that was glass that would go to the 27th floor and I couldn't look. Ugh.

The only picture I actually got of the conference.

We were running/ walking buddies this summer, so here we were diligently getting in some exercise really late at night. I didn't last too long, I'm not used to all those late nights!
Speaking of late nights...we kept trying to coordinate visiting time with some old friends but with family and kids in the mix now, it's not so easy to do.☺ (And this time I wasn't the one with kids, what a weird feeling!) We did meet up with Daniel, John, Bethany, Daniel Berry, and Sarah (Daniel Diff's wife) the last night we were all there and stayed up as late as we could since we all had early departure times. It was really fun to see everyone and Bethany took these photos with Sharon's phone. Leah and I tried to meet up and visit, but with Matt running all the recordings we never could make it work. Hopefully it's not another 7-8 years before we see everyone again!

Just a historic building we passed by everyday...
and the building on the left is the building that JFK was shot from.
Just a little bit of Texas landscape from the plane.

Back home. Leasha teaching the kids bad things...☺

Britton is pestering Latham for motorcyle rides constantly!
