A few things...

First off..a whiny vent.
I'm STILL fighting this stupid sinus crap (going on 3 weeks now). It's like the inversion that sits over SLC, the congestion is hanging around in my sinus' making me have a constant headache. If I still have it next time I see the doctor I might just ask for some antibiotics.
Britton started going to preschool this week. He looks perturbed in this picture because he was upset that I was taking a photo instead of letting him go out the door. ☺
The kids would like their rooms to have some personality and so I've been slowly trying to get around to decorating. I've made some small progress in the girls room. The hard part is that they are so opinionated now in their old age that everything has to pass inspection and be approved. Ella likes pink, so if I do something with pink I'm pretty safe...

I'm trying to follow an organizing challenge on my other blog so if you're interested in that sort of thing you'll have to check it out. This week's challenge is the refrigerator and freezer which I have to admit I'm not all that motivated about. ☺

Top of the Morning to you...

It seems yesterday was the day of the sunrise. It was so pretty everyone took a photo. ☺

So low...

Everytime I see myself in the mirror I'm like, "Yowzers, I look really low." ☺
So I took a picture to see if I still looked low since I didn't look quite this low in the 36 week pictures we just took the other day.

Yeah, it looks pretty low still.

Organizing Challenge #1

I've started an organizing challenge and this week was cleaning off countertops and tables. Removing small appliances off the countertops that don't need to be there, etc...
Thanks to pregnancy nesting I had already done most of it awhile ago. ☺
We've been sick this week so it was mostly just cleaning up from letting things build up. Except for the cabinet in my back entry, that's definitely one of my problem areas.

BEFORE PHOTOS:

My back entry cabinet which clearly needed some organizing. ☺

AFTER PHOTOS:

(I have to keep my diabetes stuff out on the counter still so that I remember to check my blood sugars)

36 Weeks

WARNING
Lots of whining in this post...
********

We've contintued to be sick for the rest of the week. Aidan has missed like 5 days of school at this point. =P The kids and myself are still hacking and if there isn't a major improvement in the next day or so, we'll be taking them to see the doctor.
I'm more miserable from being sick than from being pregnant.☺ I've also got another cold sore in the same spot as before so I'm pretty thrilled about that.
The temperatures have remained really cold getting in the negatives at night and up in the 20's during the day (if we're lucky).

I feel as though I've made some headway on my house organizing though and so if I wasn't sick I'd be able to sleep at night. ;) Finally got the baby's clothes (and gear) washed and put away too.

The kids wanted in on the impromtu photoshoot as we were headed out the door.

Aidan was really fond of this face pose.

Round 2

ugh. ugh. ugh.

Aidan came home from school last Thursday not feeling well. That snowballed into him having a fever, runny nose, and coughing violently all weekend and now he's missed 3 days of school. Yesterday Ella and Britton started doing the same, so we're battling more high fevers, coughs, and little sleep.

Now I'm getting sick.

I feel like we just did this.

Britton's First Haircut

I've been saying for awhile now that he needed his first trim, and I finally got around to doing it. ☺

It wasn't too traumatic for him, and Cary wouldn't take some "during" pictures for me.
After (not sure why I didn't clean off his dirty face)

35 Weeks

 Cue panic attack.
Actually, I just look really tired in these pictures and I've apparently outgrown this shirt too because it bunches up strangely (something I didn't notice until these pictures!). ☺
Aidan is now sick so Cary and I didn't get much sleep last night.

Driving

I've been going to SLC fairly often at this point for doctors appointments and other appointments. Cary has been staying home with the kids and I usually draft Janille or Kenneth to take me in.  I have to bring Cary's cell phone with me since we got rid of mine a long time ago. (they are useless out here) and I've been having a little too much fun with his Instagram account. ☺
Yesterday was Kenneth's lucky day and he drove me into SLC, and we were a little nervous since we'd heard that a major storm was supposed to hit later on in the day.

There is still a lot of snow everywhere from the last storm.

We saw clouds all day but we never actually did encounter snow, until...
on our way back home a few miles past Hinkley it was a full on blizzard almost all the way to EskDale. Jim, our Sheriff, was in his truck ahead of us and he blazed the trail. (It wasn't snowing in Snake Valley though, strange!)

Growth Chart Project

Another Pinterest inspired project.
I've been wanting to do this for a looooong time. I'm pretty sure we were still living at Petra when I had Cary pick up the board for me.
Yeah, it sat out in some weather and now it's all warped BUT I finally got it done. ☺
This is not it's final resting place, but I have it in the hall and I don't think I could get a picture of it in there since the hall is so small.
I still had an old growth chart that I used with Aidan and Ella a few years ago so I could transfer those over to my new one.

34 weeks

My cold sore is having a hard time going away since it was so massive. =P
Aaaagh!
6 weeks-ish left.
Nesting is in full swing, complete with dreams about organzing closets and drawers. Too bad I don't have the energy to accomplish even 25% of the things I'd like to accomplish. ☺
Why is there the need to all of the sudden need to do all these things before the baby is born? I try and tell myself that if I've lived without them done for over a year now I think it will be okay if it doesn't get done for a few more months.
I'm not listening.
I'm going in for weekly-ish appointments and non-stress tests, making it feel like it's so close to the end now.

Projects

I really wanted to make good use of the time that Cary had off for the holidays, and painting dressers was on the top of that list.

I got this dresser from my mom over 5 years ago, right before Aidan was born and I've originally been wanting to stain the bottom part and paint the top white, but since I'm pregnant and shouldn't be inhaling those kind of fumes, and it's WAY too cold to be doing this outside or anywhere with ventilation, it all got painted white.

This is just a cheap RAST dresser from IKEA that we bought for Aidan when we first moved into this house. Aidan wanted me to paint it red last summer and I never got around to it. Well, he hasn't mentioned recently that he still wanted it red, and I had this little sample pot of Valspar Cobalt Cannon, so I went ahead and painted it that color.
I really like it.
Aidan does not.
He still wants it to be red.

The boys have another dresser in their room that I wanted to work on as well, but I ran out of steam and now I'm kind of wishing I would have stuck to painting the little dresser red, and painting the bigger one that blue because I really ended up liking the color. ☺

Happy New Years!

It's been a busy week, and last weekend we headed to SLC to hang out with the Fabers and have dinner together and go to the ZOO lights. It was too cold outside for Britton (who still wasn't feeling his perky self) and for me, so we went back to Josh and Kiera's. I don't have any pictures of that since I wasn't there, but I know that Aidan and Ella loved it. They really liked spending time with Jordy and Audrey too in our short stay.

Last night my little party animals stayed up until past midnight. We had a party here at EskDale with food, games, fireworks, and sparkling cider. (Britton and Cary stayed home, Britton is not a very good party animal yet, he just turns into a cranky animal.) ☺

Getting some bubbly. ;)
