Short house update

Well, I guess the people that were supposed to come out and stucco the house a couple of weeks ago still haven't showed up to work.
Dean and Kath were out working on the roof and it looks like they are pretty close to done.

Windows are in, and they are working on the plumbing and wiring.

My little boy that was sick all through the holiday.

Garage door in. Whee.

Some pictures of T-Day...

Here are some pictures of our day. You can see now what Ken and I came up for decorating. It was a lot of fun, it just comes and goes so fast. :-) I never have enough time to take pictures either.

My poor little boy was sick all day but he managed to muster up a smile.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone is having/had a great Thanksgiving Day.

Personally, my turkey and stuffing were delicious, as were the strawberry rhubarb pie with ice cream, and lemon pie.

I'm posting a couple of videos for Shawn, but everyone is welcome to view them ....obviously. :-) The computer was having a hard time converting the video since our camera is in HD so I don't know how they are going to turn out.

A few of my favorite things.

Obviously food is my favorite thing for special events and gatherings, but next to food is coming up with unique (and sometimes not so unique) ways of decorating for the event or season. We usually spend these holidays and events with our family and "extended" family so decorating always has a few challenges. The building is rather utilitarian as well as the tables and chairs, and we are usually serving anywhere from 40 people to 100. So it's always fun to figure out how we're going to set the tables up and make the room more festive and homey from the everyday look. This year we're planning on around 75 people for our Thanksgiving dinner and I've been trying to come up with the centerpieces for that many tables, color scheme, etc... all while trying not to spend very much money.
Last year was once of my favorite looks as far as Thanksgiving, Ken and I really outdid ourselves. ;-) So I'm hoping this year is as fun and looks half as good.

The best part of all, of course, is the pie table! Happy planning to everyone.

Makes you want to read it, eh?

This is going to be a very boring update. :-)

We (Cary, Ken, Aidan, and I) had to come out to E-Dale last weekend, so we decided that Aidan and I would just spend a couple of days and hang out with the family again, and Cary would just work his couple of days and then come back out. Aidan loves being here chasing the cats around and getting tons of attention from everyone. I've been helping mom brine all the turkeys (which I'm very excited about) and now I've got to get busy folding napkins and make the centerpieces. Then at some point I'm planning on making baked cheesecakes and strawberry rhubarb pie.
Morning sickness comes and goes, but I atleast can find something to eat every now and then so hopefully I'm on the other side of it.

Baby makes 3....err, 4.

Egads. Just saying that is a little frightening. Here is how we told the family.

Aidan looking all happy, not knowing the outcome this will have on his kingly position. :-)

We are finally all getting over our colds, but morning sickness is kicking my butt, and I feel accomplished when I feed Aidan all of his meals and change his diapers. :-)

Poop and food really aren't my two favorite things right now...in fact, I'm looking forward to the day when food is good again and I actually WANT to eat. Needless to say, I haven't been taking pictures (or been doing much of anything else)
This last weekend we went to Ethan's 2nd b-day party and I'm bummed that I didn't take my camera. Henry, Ethan, Drew, Aidan, Jaydon, Xander, and Sam were all there....and a friend of Melanie's brought her two girls, Ava and Lily, to help balance out all the boys that were there. Guess that'll teach me to leave my camera home.

Whinefest

So we picked up a cold bug while in Vegas and we've been dealing with it ever since. It's not very fun and all I've wanted to do for week and half is alternate between a hot bath and sleep. :-) Hopefully it will go away soon.

Cary headed to Alabama this week for work, so Aidan and I are visiting family. We've had a good time so far but I don't think we make very nice guests right now. At some point I'll get back to my regularly scheduled posting and pictures. :-)

Weekend in Vegas

We headed down to Vegas this weekend for a wedding. Valerie and Bob got married and she had asked me to be a bridesmaid. Vegas isn't my favorite place by any stretch, but we had a good weekend. I'm just realizing we didn't get ANY family photos and I didn't get any of Aidan in his cute outfit. Oh well, next time we all get dressed up (ha ha)........whenever that is. :-)

This was at Malcolm and Annette's house, Ben was helping Christian get ready.

Nick getting ready to party.

Aidan intently reading his book.

Later, after the wedding, we went back to Malcom and Annette's and hung out and visited. (AND watched the end of the Jazz game!)
